The Nano Motion Rig is designed as a compact weekend project and aims to make getting started with DIY motion systems as simple as possible. The goal was to develop a system that works in a small space, remains easy to manage, and still demonstrates the basic motion principles of a 6-axis system.
With a footprint of 320 × 147 × 181 mm (L × W × H), the mockup requires only minimal desk space and can be set up even in smaller work environments.
The system follows a modular design. It can be built as a full 6-axis system, but can just as easily be operated as a 3- or 4-axis variant. This keeps the entry barrier intentionally low.
The workflow is kept simple:
On the first day, the parts are printed. On the second day, assembly and initial setup take place
